The race for the Xmas No1 slot is really heating up with Rage Against The Machine (as fueled by the anti X-Factor brigade) currently on pole! And in this head to head there are clearly some great opportunities for a bit of creative fun. Remember The Name
"Today's soundtrack to sporting endeavour and excellence from Mike Shinoda's LA ensemble"
It's a track that's been around for a while but Fort Minor's Remember The Name has clearly now achieved cult status as 'the' soundtrack to sit alongside stella sporting endeavour. Across the internet legendary basketball players Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dwight Howard all have their best moments on court compiled by die hard fans to this ripping hip hop classic. Cristiano Ronaldo has even got his own montage. Only probably not for long...
Alas WMG have recently decided to get tough on unauthorised use of the track and insisting that audio be disabled across the web piste. Once view count hits around 200 thousand even the best montages can come crashing down without the background riff ... shame.
So before it's too late check out the effort below - as the architect tells us ' a video dedicated to and inspired by regular people doing some pretty amazing things....'
And there's no doubt that the track's lyrics tell their own story of what it takes to achieve a bit more in life ... we just have to decide whether we're up for pushing ourselves.

Last September, Busta Rhymes, Feeder, Lethal Bizzle, The Automatics, Ludacris, John Legend and Guillemots joined forces for a gig at The Royal Albert Hall, London, in front of 5,000 adoring fans. Sounds cool, but so what?
Well, this was a show with a difference: those in attendance hadn’t paid for their tickets; they’d earned them by doing four hours of community work in the city. Four hours, one ticket. Simple. It was the UK centre piece for an idea rich in entertainment, culture and social invention: Rockcorps.

We caught wind of the brilliant Exyzt some time ago. We had hoped to see more stuff, but they had their heads down, dreaming, scheming, daring to imagine what was possible. The great thing about Pier Schneider and François Wunschel, two architecture specialists from the 22 strong Exyzt team, is that they have the skill and determination to turn their dreams into reality. This time it was at a Nuit Blanche (all-nighter) in Amiens, France, back in October.

The Brooklyn band rightfully cap the media’s year in music.
There’s something great about this time of year. It’s not the promise of an oversized sock fat with forgettable fillers, and nor is it the abundance of mince pies heartily washed down with mulled wine - though both are certainly perks. No, it’s because December is a time for reflection in the music media.
Together writers crook their necks as they glance over their shoulders and into the immediate past to dig out memories of those songs, albums, artists and performances that left more indelible marks than most. And as work begins to wind down for the rest of us, we gather their offerings and, with a glass of seasonal sherry and - if we must - another mince pie, nestle into the sofa by the tree and begin to read. Oh, the bliss of it.
2008, most commentators agree, was the year Brooklyn, NY, ruled the world, and one band in particular, blending the noisier experimentalism and virtuoso instrumentation of earlier albums with a newfound lust for pop, led the way. Picked up by Warp, Gang Gang Dance have beguiled with their bewitching psychedelic workouts on new album Saint Dymphna (named after the patron saint of the nervous and mentally afflicted). Mostly, it’s as brilliant as everyone has said. Give track eight, 'House Jam', a listen and then try getting that vox hook out of your head. You won’t be able to. Trust me. As a whole, the album is the same: diverse, intoxicating, memorable, funky, dark, straight, experimental, vocal, instrumental... It has it all. The only regrettable moment is the group’s descent into grime alongside London MC Tinchy Strider.
